Choir Director – Part Time

Ivy Creek UMC is hiring a part-time choir director to join our leadership team. Our Chancel  Choir leads the Sunday morning worship service and presents special music performances  throughout the year with a special emphasis during Thanksgiving, Advent/Christmas, and  Lent/Easter. Our choir ranges in size week-to-week from 4 to 12 volunteers who can perform a  wide variety of pieces and styles. Rehearsals are typically once weekly. 

Additional duties include: 

• Working as a member of our Music Team to enhance and expand our music programs. • Helping grow and develop an inter-generational choral program. 

• Assisting choir members in developing their musical abilities and encouraging them as  they work to offer their highest praise to God through music. 

• Actively recruiting new members for the Chancel Choir. 

• Working as a team to organize, maintain, and grow our music library. • Leading the ICUMC congregation in song during worship. 

• Collaborating closely with the Pastor and worship committee in worship and music  ministry. (includes worship committee planning meetings approximately monthly). • Coordinating audio system requirements with technical volunteers. 

• Developing future opportunities for the music ministry. 

Expected time commitment: 10-15 hours weekly at $28.00/hr.
