- For the first time, all states have laws providing funds for transporting children to school.
- The 18th Amendment was added to the Constitution making the manufacture, sale, or transportation of “intoxicating liquors” illegal. Prohibition begins.
- The 19th Amendment was passed by Congress (added to Constitution following year) giving women the right to vote.
- The Treaty of Versailles was signed, outlining the peace terms of World War I. The US Senate refused to ratify the treaty and the United State declared the war over with Germany in 1921.
- Mussolini founded the Fasci di Combattimento, dedicated to opposing the Socialist Party.
- Finland wins freedom from Russia and becomes an independent republic.
- The Spanish Influenza Epidemic which started in 1918 and spread world-wide was finally coming to an end. The 3 waves of this epidemic afflicted 5% of the world’s population (25% in the US) claimed the lives of an estimated 50 million people.
Life Details
- During Pastor England’s tenure, Ivy Creek moved to the location we use today.
- The Dedication took place on May 30, 1920.
- The original structure did not include the vestibule and originally had 2 aisles.
