Life Details
- Charles Edward Watts was born in 1842 in Virginia and was the brother of Morton Simms Watts, described two weeks ago, who served as minister from 1890-1893.
- He joined the Confederate Army at the age of 18 enlisting as a private in Company H, 19th Virginia Infantry. He transferred to Company E, 2nd Virginia Cavalry and worked his was up the ranks eventually being promoted to 2nd Corporal in 1864.
- In 1868, he married Harriet and they had 9 children, 3 sons and 6 daughters (including a set of twin girls).
