On March 16, Ivy Creek United Methodist Church opened its year-long bicentinneal celebration with an old-fashioned tent meeting. To comemorate this milestone, two new panes were added to the stained glass window above the entrance: Established 1808. We were honored to have Governor Jim Gilmore and the Honorable Creigh Deeds as guests for this historic event.
Ivy Creek has a rich history (find out about Ivy Creek's Founding ), and in accordance with the rich history of Ivy Creek, the service honored both the long-time members of Ivy Creek:

We also had much joyous singing:
and a message both from our minister, Jim Thornton, as well as the reading of a letter from Governor Tim Kaine .
Finally, in the Methodist tradition, everyone enjoyed fellowship and food after the service:
